A perennial with upright dark green leaves that form a clump to 40 cm high and wide. Flowering stems grow clear of the foliage and produce a succession of short lived flowers from the one point. Full sun or light shade. This plant may only be available at specialist nurseries.

Cultivars include both blue and white flowered forms.
