Want to know how to have a garden that is healthy and waterwise? Find out by attending the free Waterwise Garden Workshop to be held at the Piney Lakes Environmental Education Centre in Winthrop on Wednesday, 21 February from 6pm to 7.30pm.

Water Corporation is working with Waterwise Council, City of Melville, and South Metropolitan TAFE to deliver the free workshop to help households save water.

Water Corporation spokesperson Clare Lugar said there were many ways to save water in the garden, even during summer.

“More than 40 per cent of household water use occurs outside the home, so gardens are a great place to start when it comes to saving water,” Ms Lugar said.

“This free interactive workshop will include details of how to set up your garden and irrigation system, so you can have a healthy waterwise garden throughout summer.”

Water Corporation launched two programs in spring to help households save water in the garden.

The Waterwise Irrigation Controller Offer is available through Waterwise Irrigation Specialists and allows Perth households to receive a 50 per cent discount (maximum of $350) on weather based irrigation controllers.

The Waterwise Garden Rewards Program allows Water Corporation customers to purchase selected mulch, soil wetting agent and soil improvers from Bunnings and receive one, two or three more products, free of charge.
