Media Release - closure of Kununurra Diversion Dam Bridge

Water Corporation advises the Kununurra Diversion Dam Bridge will be fully closed overnight on 6, 7 and 8 May to allow important upgrade work to go ahead.

Closure of the bridge, which forms part of the Victoria Highway, will take place between 9pm and 5.30am each night.  

Water Corporation North West Regional Manager Rino Trolio said the temporary bridge closures would allow the upgrade work to be carried out safely.

“On each of the three days the bridge will be open as usual between 5.30am and 9pm,” Mr Trolio said.

“Outside of these hours, road users need to plan ahead and take into consideration that the bridge will be fully closed.”

Mr Trolio said the work had been scheduled to take place overnight to reduce as much impact to the local community and road users as possible.

“We apologise in advance for this temporary inconvenience and thank the community for its patience and understanding,” Mr Trolio said.
