A major project to upgrade the wastewater infrastructure in Two Rocks and parts of Yanchep is almost complete and is now due to finish by late March 2019.

Water Corporation Assets Delivery General Manager Nathan Hardwick said there had been a few weeks added to the project to finish the last section of pipe being installed near the intersection of Lisford Avenue and Sovereign Drive in Two Rocks.

“The ground conditions in this area have been a lot tougher than expected so the excavation has taken longer,” Mr Hardwick said.

“I thank the Two Rocks and Yanchep communities for their continued patience while we complete this work, as we understand we have been in their neighbourhood a bit longer than we expected.”

Since the project started Water Corporation has installed over six kilometres of wastewater pipeline, with just 31 metres remaining.

The new below ground wastewater pump station on Charnwood Reserve and upgrades of the existing Abrolhos Close Wastewater Pump Station are now complete.

This upgrade is to help cater for the growth and future development of Two Rocks and Yanchep.

Mr Hardwick said areas around the work will be reinstated and cleaned up as closely as possible to its original condition, and this will be finalised once all work has finished.

Water Corporation has a dedicated project page, complete with maps of where the work is being undertaken that is updated regularly.
