  • $3.49 million project to upgrade Ellenbrook's wastewater infrastructure to support population growth in the City of Swan
  • The upgrades will be completed by local contractors and involve 26 Western Australian workers

The McGowan Government, through Water Corporation, will start work this week to install a new 2.4 kilometre wastewater pipeline to improve wastewater services in the City of Swan.

The $3.49 million project will ensure Ellenbrook is well equipped with essential infrastructure to accommodate for the fast growing population and help reduce the likelihood of blockages and wastewater overflows.

Work will start along Farnborough Parkway, Berrington Trail, Huxley Drive, Cardinal Drive, Vines Avenue and Hermitage Drive and is expected to be completed early next year.

A combination of trenchless technology and open trench excavation will be used to minimise disruption to the community and environment.

To reduce impact to the local community, work will take place Monday to Friday from 7am to 6pm with traffic management in place at all times to ensure public safety.

Work will be carried out by Perth-based contractor Civcon, along with local subcontractors and suppliers including Ground Support Systems, DJ MacCormick Contractors, Knee Asphalt, Edge Transport Solutions and McRobert Contracting Services. In total 26 Western Australian workers will be involved in the project.

The McGowan Government, through Water Corporation, will invest a total of $338.6 million in 2019-20 across the metropolitan area on water, wastewater and drainage projects.
