Project goal:

To improve the safety and reliability of water supply to Roelands

Status:

In construction

Delivery Date:

The upgrade is expected to be completed in late 2024.

What's happening?

Water Corporation is upgrading the water infrastructure in Roelands, to ensure a safe and reliable water supply for the growing community.

Work will include:

  • a new underground pipeline along Waterloo Road
  • a pressure control valve on the Eastern end of Waterloo Road
  • a new tank on Livingstone Heights and
  • a new water pumping station off Delaware Loop

When is this happening?

Construction commenced in November 2023. It will occur in stages to minimise disruption and will take up to a year to complete.

The underground pipe along Waterloo Road and two pressure controls have now been installed and work areas temporarily restored. Please note areas will be permanently restored later in the work schedule.

Works will continue to complete the following stages:

  • new booster pumping station and permanent tank on Livingstone Heights and
  • new transfer pumping station at number 5 Delaware Loop

How will this impact me?

Construction activities. The new pipeline will be installed underground via open-trench excavation. You may notice some noise, vehicle movement and dust around the site. We will have measures in place to minimise the inconvenience for neighbouring residents.

Traffic. Traffic management along required in Waterloo Road has been completed. However further traffic management may be required. Please continue to follow traffic management instructions and use caution when travelling around the site.

Restoration. We follow a thorough reinstatement process to replace all impacted areas like for like, where possible. Temporary restorations may be in place for a time until work crews are able to permanently restore work areas. We will work closely with the Shire of Harvey and residents to ensure all reinstatements are adequate.

Water impacts.  The new infrastructure will help ensure a more consistent water supply across the scheme. As such, you may notice a slight difference to the water pressure at your property once the work is complete. Some temporary supply disruptions may occur during the work, when we need to alter flows or tie-in new equipment. We will reach out to affected residents ahead of time.
