Various stages of work have being undertaken since 2015 through to 2019 onwards to reduce the rate of leaks and breaks on 7,800 kilometres of the farmlands water supply network.

We have replaced more than 57 kilometres of pipeline and installed over 13,500 bands on leaks and pipeline joints. We plan to continue to invest in improving the water supply services in the Goldfields and Agricultural Region with more stages of work in the years to come in the pipeline.

What is the current status?

The first two stages of work for Farmland pipe replacements have been completed with the third stage well underway. A further fourth stage has been proposed to be delivered come 2020.

On average 4,500 bands have been installed per year since 2015 to repair the pipeline. Banding works have been scheduled for 2019 with plans to install 4,600 bands.

Additionally, to reduce external corrosion of the pipeline, over 30 kilometres of pipeline is scheduled to be painted this calendar year.

We encourage all local contractors to continue bidding for the work, as stages will continue to be rolled out over the coming years. If you are a local contractor and are not a registered Water Corporation supplier or bidder, you can complete our online registration form.
