Water Corporation customers in Newman will experience a water outage from 9:00am to 3:00pm this Sunday 29 November while essential repair work takes place.

Water Corporation North West Regional Manager Rino Trolio said the water supply would be temporarily interrupted to allow a section of pipe to be replaced on Newman Drive..

“Once water supply resumes, customers may experience temporary reduced pressure and discoloured water for a short period,” Mr Trolio said.

“Temporary discoloured water may occur when we undertake this type of work because natural sediment within pipes is stirred up and causes discolouration. This sediment is harmless and the water is safe for use.”

Mr Trolio said the work would take place on Sunday to limit the impact to local schools and businesses.

Bottled water can be collected from the corner of Hilditch Avenue and Newman Drive from 8am to 1pm on Sunday 29 November.   The bottled water will be provided free of charge by the Water Corporation but customers are encouraged to take only what they need.

"I thank our customers in advance for their cooperation and understanding during these essential water supply works, and apologise for any inconvenience they may cause," Mr Trolio said.
