Whether you choose to manage the property yourself or use an agent, there are a few things you will need to do.

You will need to notify us that you are moving out of the property and advise us of the tenant details. When you contact us, we can also arrange for a meter reading to take place when you move out of the property to ensure that you are charged only for your water use.

You can advise us of the changes through our change my details form.

Changing the water use account into your tenant’s name

Depending on your tenancy agreement your tenants may be responsible for paying for their water use, we can issue future bills them. To set this up, complete our change my details form and select the option ‘I’m a property owner and want to send the water use bill to my tenant’.

Whilst your tenant may be responsible for paying for their water use, as the property owner you are responsible for service charges.

You will still need to notify us that you are moving out of the property and provide your postal address — you can update your postal address and billing details through our change my details form.

Your agent will advise us of the property management, tenant details and arrange for a meter reading to take place.

Frequently asked questions

We will send you reminder notices if your tenant’s bills are not paid, unless the amount is under $50.00. If the water use account remains unpaid, all reminders and overdue notices will be sent to you as the property owner, as you’re liable for all charges against the property.

If the property is managed by an agent, please contact your agent.

When you move house you will need to re-register your concession card, so it is applied to your new address.
